Vanau Savangüana’s father promoted the compilation of a Hla’alua dictionary and Vanau Savangüana dedicated herself to the teaching of the language. In addition to helping in the compilation of the dictionary, she has worked to create teaching materials, setting up curriculum, and promoting the teaching of the language. Vanau Savangüana says that not only the tribal elders know about “Lisu ‘ihlicu”, the younger people in the community all know it, too. It is located in what is today Tianchi near Taoyuan, Kaohsiung.
